2012 Trips
Trip #1 - Guatemala - (6-day mule trip to El Mirador/Nakbe) - This trip will be through Walfre Chi and will include the Maya ruin sites of El Tintal, La Muerta, El Mirador, Nakbé, Wakná and La Florida. The following will be provided: three meals per day, drinking water, shower water, hammocks or tents, mosquito nets, and pack mules. (February 19-24)
Saturday (18th) - Fly to Flores. Dinner at Cafe Yaxha with Walfre Chi. Lodging in Flores.
Sunday (19th) - Travel to Carmelita. 4-hour hike to campsite of La Florida. Tour the Maya ruins of La Florida. Camp at La Florida.
Monday (20th) - 9-hour hike to Nakbe. Along the way, visit the Maya ruins of Wakna. Shower on this day. Camp at Nakbe.
Tuesday (21st) - Tour the Maya ruins of Nakbe. 3 1/2-hour hike to El Mirador. Camp at El Mirador.
Wednesday (22nd) - Tour the Maya ruins of El Mirador. Camp at El Mirador.
Thursday (23rd) - 7-hour hike to El Tintal. Along the way, visit the Maya ruins of La Muerta. Shower on this day. Camp at El Tintal.
Friday (24th) - Tour the Maya ruins of El Tintal. 5-hour hike to Carmelita. Travel back to Flores. Lodging in Flores.
Saturday (25th) - Visit the orphanage.
Sunday (26th) - Fly Home.

Trip #2 - (2012 Trip Giveaway) My guest on this trip will be Roberto Vieyra of the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. We will visit the Maya ruins of Uxmal, Kiuic, Jaina, Xcalumkin, Placeres, Becan, Chicanna, Palenque, Tortuguero, and Comalcalco. Some of these sites are basically off limits to tourists, but since Roberto works for INAH, we will be granted access to any site we wish to visit. (June 16-23)
Saturday - Fly to Merida. Bus to Ticul. Lodging at Hotel Plaza in Ticul.
Sunday - Visit the Maya ruins of Uxmal,
& Kiuic. Bus to Campeche. Lodging at Hotel del Paseo in Campeche.Monday - Visit the Maya ruins of
Jaina & Xcalumkin. ADO bus to Xpujil via Campeche & Escarcega. Lodging at Hotel Calakmul.Tuesday -

Trip #3 - Honduras/Guatemala/Belize - This trip will be to visit the Maya ruins of Copan, Las Sepulturas, El Puente, Quirigua, Lubaantun, Uxbenka and Nim Li Punit.
(October 6-13)
Saturday - Fly to San Pedro Sula. Bus to Copan Ruinas. Lodging at Hacienda San Lucas.
Sunday - Visit the Maya ruins of Copan & Las Sepulturas. Lodging at Hacienda San Lucas.
Monday - Visit the Maya ruins of El Puente & Macaw Mountain. Lodging at Hacienda San Lucas.
Tuesday - Cross the border into Guatemala at El Florido. Visit the Maya ruins of Quirigua in Guatemala. Bus from Los Amates to Puerto Barrios. Lodging at Hotel Marbrissa.
Wednesday - Ferry to Punta Gorda, Belize at 10:00 am. Lodging at Hickatee Cottages.
Thursday - Visit the Maya ruins of Lubaantun, Uxbenka & Nim Li Punit. Lodging at Hickatee Cottages.
Friday - Tropic Air flight to Belize City. Lodging at Belize City.
Saturday - Fly home.

2013 Trips
Trip #1 - (2013 Trip Giveaway)
This will be a 5-year reunion trip for the seven people who were present on Dwayne Shreve's March 2008 Peten Trip and did not make it to Naachtun or San Bartolo that year as planned. Those seven people are listed first on the roster. This trip will also include others that are interested in coming along as well. The priority of this trip will be to visit Naachtun. Additionally, this trip will include the 2013 trip giveaway recipient; Mike Reed, who accepted the offer for being my guest on this trip and is also a member of the reunion group of seven.The following will be provided as needed: transportation, three meals per day, drinking water, shower water, solar showers, hammocks or tents and mosquito nets. We will travel by (4) 4x4 trucks and shower on the 2nd & 4th nights. (March 10-14)
Day 1 (Sunday) - Travel from Flores - Pass through Uaxactun - Visit Manantial - Camp at Dos Lagunas. (L-D)
Day 2 (Monday) - Visit Naachtun - Camp at Dos Lagunas. Take showers on this evening. (B-L-D)
Day 3 (Tuesday) - Visit Rio Azul - Visit Kinal - Camp at Ixcan Rio. (B-L-D)
Day 4 (Wednesday) - Visit Chochkitam - Visit La Honradez - Camp at La Lagunita. Take showers on this evening. (B-L-D)
Day 5 (Thursday) - Visit Xmacabatun - Visit Chunhuitz - Travel back to Flores via Melchor de Mencos. (B-L)
