I am fortunate enough to be able to travel 5 or 6 times each year and do so for nothing more than pleasure. I don't make any money at all from planning trips such as this, for my friends or family. I just like to have fun and experience new places. I also enjoy meeting new people who are interested in Maya history. 2010 Trips (Remaining)

Trip #6 - Mexico - (Valladolid, Ticul and Isla Mujeres) - trip to visit the Maya ruins of Uxmal, Oxkintok and Ek Balam. We will also visit the Convent of Mani. September 12-19

This will be the last time I travel to this part of the Yucatan for a good while, so if you want to go there with me in September, please let me know.

12th - Fly to Cancun. Bus to Valladolid. Dinner at Restaurant Las Campanas. Hotel El Meson del Marques.

13th - Visit the Maya ruins of Ek Balam. Also, visit Cenote Zaci and tour the cathedral there. Hotel El Meson del Marques.

14th - Bus to Merida. Bus to Ticul. Visit the Convent of Mani. Hotel Plaza.

15th - Visit the Maya ruins of Uxmal and Oxkintok. Bus to Merida. Visit the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology. Celebrate the bi-centennial Independence Day Declaration with the locals in the main city square. Holiday Inn Hotel.

16th - Bus to Valladolid. Bus to Cancun. Ferry boat to Isla Mujeres. Celebrate Mexico's bi-centennial Independence Day. Hotel Las Palmas

17th - Diving at Isla Mujeres - 2 tank reef - with Alvaro Garrido at Crystal Diver Scuba Shop. Hotel Las Palmas.

18th - Diving at Isla Mujeres - 2 tank reef - with Alvaro Garrido at Crystal Diver Scuba Shop. Hotel Las Palmas.

19th - Fly home.

2011 Trips

Trip #1 - Mexico - (2011 Trip Giveaway) - This will be my annual group trip to visit various sites. Also, Lynne Downing (Scott Turner's mom) will be joining the group as the 2011 trip giveaway recipient. We will visit Comalcalco, Palenque, Yaxchilan, Bonampak and Tonina. Also, we will visit Misol-Ha and Agua Azul Waterfalls. We will fly in and out of Villahermosa and will rent a minivan for our transportation. February

Saturday - Day 1 - Fly to Villahermosa. Transportation to Palenque. Lodging in Palenque.

Sunday - Day 2 - Visit the Maya ruins of Palenque. Lodging in Palenque.

Monday - Day 3 - Visit the Maya ruins of Tonina. Also visit Misol-Ha and Agua Azul Waterfalls along the way. Lodging in Palenque.

Tuesday - Day 4 - Transportation to Valle Escondido. Hang out with Willy Fonseca at his ranch. Maybe go horseback riding? Lodging at Valle Escondido.

Wednesday - Day 5 - Visit the Maya ruins of Yaxchilan and Bonampak. Lodging at Valle Escondido.

Thursday - Day 6 - Transportation to Villahermosa. Check out the HUGE cathedral there and knock around town a bit. Maybe visit the market? Lodging in Villahermosa.

Friday - Day 7 - Visit the Maya ruins of Comalcalco. Lodging in Villahermosa.

Saturday - Day 8 - Fly home.

Trip #2 - Peru - (Machu-Picchu) Visit Lima, Cuzco City and the Inca ruins of Machu-Picchu. June

Trip #3 - Honduras - This trip will be to visit the Maya ruins of Los Naranjos, Las Sepulturas, El Puente and Copan. Also, we will tour a coffee plantation and visit a archaeological museum. October

Day 1 - Fly to San Pedro Sula. Lodging at Holiday Inn Express.

Day 2 - Visit the Maya ruins of Los Naranjos at Lake Yojoa. Do some bird watching there. Lodging at Holiday Inn Express.

Day 3 - Hedman Alas bus to the town of Copan Ruinas. Visit Macaw Mountain. Lodging at Hacienda San Lucas.

Day 4 - Visit the Maya ruins of El Puente and tour Welchez Coffee Plantation. Lodging at Hacienda San Lucas.

Day 5 - Visit the Maya ruins of Las Sepulturas and Copan. Lodging at Hacienda San Lucas.

Day 6 - Tour the Museum in Copan Ruinas. Hedman Alas bus to San Pedro Sula. Lodging at Holiday Inn Express.

Day 7 - Fly home.

2012 Trips

Trip #1 - Guatemala - (6 day mule trip to El Mirador/Nakbe') - This trip will be with Walfre Chi and will include the Maya ruin sites: El Tintal, La Muerta, El Mirador, Nakbe' and La Florida. - February

Saturday - Fly to Flores. Dinner at Cafe Yaxha with Walfre Chi. Lodging in Flores.

Sunday - Travel to Carmelita. 5 1/2 hour hike to campsite of El Tintal. Tour the site there. Camp at El Tintal.

Monday - 7 hour hike to El Mirador (visit the site of La Muerta along the way). Camp at El Mirador.

Tuesday - Tour the Maya ruins of El Mirador. Camp at El Mirador.

Wednesday - 3 1/2 hour hike to Nakbe. Tour the site there. Camp at Nakbe..

Thursday - 9 hour hike to La Florida. Camp at La Florida..

Friday - Tour the Maya ruin site of La Florida. 4 hour hike to Carmelita. Travel back to Flores. Lodging in Flores.
