Maya Ruins Only
Have you ever wanted to explore the Maya World, and were afraid to do so without help from others? This site explains how to visit many areas of the Maya World without paying a tour agency some ridiculous price, and it still allows a person to experience as much (if not more) than one would on a guided tour. However, sometimes it is better to locally pay for a guided tour. It really depends on the area. Planning a trip on your own is not hard at all, especially when you have a good reference book such as The Rough Guide to go by. This book is not always 100% accurate, because specific details can change with time, but still can be extremely helpful. I use mine as a reference, especially when I am in unfamiliar territory.
