Las Flamitas - Very authentic Yucatecan cooking and the best Sopa de Lima on the island. Located on Ave 25 - 1/2 block south of the intersection with Morelos. Open for lunch only.

San Carlos Pescaderia - Offers the best prices in town for fabulously fresh fried whole fish and filets. Located on Avenida 50 Business between Calle 3 and Calle 5.

Sabores - Offers a changing selection of entrees served comida corrida (fixed plate) style..Only open from noon until around 4:30 PM.

Toñita's - Offers one special dish for each day of the week. Open for breakfast and lunch 6 days a week. You can order the special or choose from a menu of more standard Yucatecan/Mexican fare. Located close to the downtown plaza on Rosada Salas between Avenida 10 and Avenida 15, north side of the street, mid-block.

Del Sur Argentina - Offers Argentinian-style empanadas made from wheat flour.  Located on Avenida 5 in the block just north of the downtown plaza.

Tres Gatitos - Offers authentic Yucatan anjojitos "finger food".  Open after 7 PM. Located at Calle 7 between Avenida 10 and Avenida 15.

El Foco - Offers tacos. Located between a internet cafe and a beauty supply house. 1/2 block south of the pedestrian only plaza on Avenida 5.

El Pique - Offers quesadillas and tacos. Open after 7 PM. Located across the street from the San Francisco D'Assis grocery which is on the corner of Avenida 30 and Juarez.

Los Seras - Specializes in pastores (pah-STORE-eys), soft tacos piled with thin slivers of BBQ'd pork, minced onions, cilantro and fresh pineapple. Open for dinner only and best to go after 8 PM and on up until 1 AM in the morning and later. On the corner of Avenida 30 and Morelos (between Calle 3 and Calle 5).

Chilango's - Specializes in the huarache, a large, sandal shaped tortilla that is grilled and then generously topped with your choice of delicious home-made fillings including rajas (poblano peppers), nopales (cactus salad), mushrooms, potatoes and variously seasoned mixtures of finely chopped pork, chicken and beef. Then they sprinkle dry cheese and cilantro on the top. Open after 7 PM. Located on Avenida 30, 4 blocks south of the big intersection of Avenida 30 and Benito Juarez.. east side of the street.

Expensive

Le Bistrot - Le Bistro offers an excellent gourmet breakfast menu as well as a varied gourmet menu of fresh -- never frozen seafood and some delicious Italian treats. .. Located on the corner of Calle 7 and Avenida 5 -- one block in from the waterfront behind the Punta Langosta pier. Open Tuesday through Saturday for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Kinta - Another favorite with locals, Kinta's offers interesting twists on local Yucatecan cuisine plus lots of varieties of seafood. Open after 6 PM. Located on Avenida 5 between Calle 2 and Calle 4 -- so 1/2 block north of the pedestrian only plaza.

La Cocay - Located on Calle 8 between Avenida 10 and Avenida 15.

La Veranda - Located on Calle 4 between Avenida 5 and Avenida 10 -- two blocks in from the waterfront.

Guidos - Offers pastas and pizzas and fresh, well prepared seafood. Located on the waterfront north of the ferry pier between Calle 4 and Calle 6.

Buccanos Beach Grill - Located on the water in the northern hotel zone.

Sonrisa - Offers oven fired pizza and salads. Located on Calle 3..... 1/2 block in from the waterfront.

Olive Wine Bar - Located downtown on the corner of Calle 5 and Avenida 5.
